Dynatrol® Viscosity Systems provide fast, precise viscosity measurement for use on a wide variety of process industry applications: plastics, chemicals, inks, paper, oils, paints, shampoos, adhesives, coatings, foods, etc. The Dynatrol viscometer utilizes a unique vibratory principle to provide continuous measurement at on-line process conditions. This eliminates the need for sampling and provides exceptional accuracy. Your Dynatrol Viscosity Measurement System begins with the proper selection of a probe and digital viscosity converter for your application.
The Viscosity Probe utilizes a vibrating rod immersed in the process media. The design is without recesses, packing or wearing parts. The Dynatrol Viscosity Probe is available in stainless steel and other corrosion-resistant materials. It can operate in ranges up to 100,000 centipoise. It has a standard pressure rating of 1000 PSI and a standard temperature rating of 300°F. Higher pressure and temperature ratings are available to meet specific needs and to satisfy a wide range of requirements. With no moving parts it is virtually wear-free - ensuring a long operating life.
The Viscosity Stand Alone package provides a solution where an in-line viscometer is not practical. Its ½ " NPT inlet and outlet process connections can be valve isolated from the process stream to facilitate cleaning procedures, calibration, etc. This stand-alone system maintains the same standard ratings as our in-line system.
The Digital Viscosity Converter The Dynatrol Digital Converter Series 3000 (Model STD) was designed for use with all Dynatrol Viscosity Systems. Using microcontroller technology, the digital converter accepts information from a Dynatrol® Viscosity probe and calculates the viscosity of the liquid under test. The Series 3000 Converter mathematically computes and displays the viscosity in standard units.

Dynatrol® Viscosity Systems
Dynatrol® Density Systems
Dynatrol® Density Systems are designed for the measurement of density in familiar units such as specific gravity, API gravity, Baumé, BRIX°, as well as being able to measure the percent solids or percent concentration of a liquid or slurry.
Dynatrol Density Systems achieve exceptional accuracy over a wide range of process changes in ambient temperature, pressure, viscosity or flow
Dynatrol products are highly respected and relied upon in a variety of industries. Our products are well-proven and extremely versatile as process tools.
Principle of Operation
The media under test flows through the internal U-tube portion of the Dynatrol cell. The ½” tubing is driven into mechanical vibration by the electrically excited drive coil. As the density or specific gravity of the media increases or decreases, so does the effective mass of the U-tube, changing the frequency of vibration.
The pick-up end, consisting of an armature and coil arrangement, senses the vibration and provides an output that is a function of the density, specific gravity or percent solids of the process media.
Advantages
All components have been constructed for a long operating-life. Dynatrol Cells are rugged, accurate & easily installed. They can be installed across a main line transfer pump or a small re-circulating pump may also be used so that a small stream of the process media circulates through the U-tube. additionally, they can be installed across an orifice or other pressure drop point.
* Pressure Ratings: 1000 and 1480 PSI (standard)
* Temperature Rating: 300°F and 500°F (standard)
* Process Connection: Threaded, Flanged, or CIP
* Integral Temperature Measurement:
* Platinum RTD.
* Housing: Rugged, Sealed, All-Weather X-proof
* CSA NRTL/C Approved for Class 1, Group D, Division 1
